Travis. I added you on FB if you need to reach out to me for anything. I'll also be checking here periodically.

What's the cost associated with each team?

Just added you to the Captains thread, Travis.

Yes sir. Lapham's been telling us about the TC since 2012 when he came over and helped install our baskets on opening day of the NDGC. Finally joined this year. Needless to say, we are PSYCHED.

how would that logistically work? do you expect 14-20 people to pay $70 each for a ferry ride 3 times a year, in the middle of winter?

You guys are in for quite a treat if you've never played the course before! Plus, we need more Todd's around this place anyway!

You got it. It's definitely a bit of a commitment for us, but we are all in.

Oh, and of course, our plan is to win the $4000 Play-In Pool first place prize Todd told us about anyway, so it shouldn't cost us anything in the end. Just kidding. ;)

I agree, Todd. I've actually spoken with Todd Bridges about this and have encouraged him to put together a team as well! Fingers crossed!

i was talking about your home matches.

For our home matches, yes, the hope was that 42-60 people would pay ~$60 each once per year to come over and play us (6:15am Hy-Line or 8:15am Steamship Authority high-speed ferry over to Nantucket and 5:30pm Steamship Authority traditional ferry back to Hyannis - for those who wanted to stay for a bit after the matches and have a beer or something at the brewery with us, they could pay ~$15 more and return to Hyannis on the 8:20pm Hy-Line high-speed). Perhaps that's wishful thinking though. That all said, if Todd and/or the teams in the Play-In Pool don't think it's fair to have to pay that in order to play at Nantucket, I'm not sure what we could do here, but we could certainly all talk and try to figure something out.

Edit: Updated ferry times

It's really an issue for the people in your pool to decide.

Is Devens Misfits happening?? I don't think so. Also Nantucket?? Gonna be tough to get teams to travel there considering it's gonna be a $200 trip per person just to show up.

It's actually just $60 round-trip to travel to (and return from) Nantucket.

I exaggerated a little bit, but gas to Hyannis, parking in Hyannis, ferry round trip. the gas is whatever but still calculated so like $140 per person if driving. Plus the teams coming from Maine and nh even my team would probably have to either stay in a hotel in Hyannis or start driving at 2:30/3am to make it intime for the 5:30 ferry to start, then take an 8:30pm ferry back to main land and have to drive 2+ hour drive home, ouch. Not to mention the weather factor. Could have this all planned then they cancel the ferry because of high seas or whatever. IMO it's a bit much to ask a traveling team to commit to. The course is beautiful and would be number one on my list if it was accessible.

That being said I personally would be down to make the trip but I can see some teammates/teams having issues with the travel and expenses.

That's no different than travelling to New York or Maine for some teams. At least Nantucket is actually in New England!

Travelling is part of the TC. That's why your whole team isn't required to show up and the Play-In pool will be semi regionalized, so that should cut down on some of the driving.

Think from Nantucket's point of view. They'll have to do what you're describing three times a year. You'll only have to do it every other year, minimum.

It is different than driving to Ny. Hence you have to pay to park and get on a boat or take a plane. I can just drive to every other match of the season.

With Coggs being Centrally Located I'm Curious as to what Division we will be in. Every where that would be considered far away is 2 hours. Bsr 2hours, WV 1.5/2 hours, topo 1.2hrs the ny and ct teams are like 2 hours. Nantucket 2.5 plus boat ride or Sesna flight

For you maybe, not for everyone. Gotta think of the whole picture!

Closest course to Burgess is 2 hours away, and we've played since year one.

TC is open to everyone.

I have no problem with the traveling what so ever it's the added expenses I can see being a problem with Nantucket. It's only $100 for the whole team to play TC for 6 months but $100+ Per person to travel to one match. We wil suck it up if need be I'm sure. Just pointing out the Negs of having an island team.

I understand your concern, I'm just saying that TC is open to every course.

There were the same concerns when Maine joined. New York too. Now it's no big deal.
